Since classes and tastings are offered at four different Harmons store locations, please note the class location when making your selection to ensure you are registered for your store of choice. To view classes at only one store, select the location in the "Only Show Classes at . . ." drop down box. Class registration closes 6 hours before the start time, but spots are still sometimes available. WINE TASTING 101

2 Hours

Have you ever been curious about what people taste when they try a glass of wine? Join French Wine Scholar Sheral Schowe and learn how to taste the complexities that make each bottle of wine different from the last. Whether you are a super taster or the average person, you will learn to taste the notes that keep people pouring.

Meet the Cheesemaker Cooking Class

2 hours

In the past decade, Wensleydale Creamery has received almost 400 awards for their cheeses! That’s no surprise since their cheeses have a unique, crumbly taste, and flavor that no other region can match. Janette Scarth from Wensleydale Creamery in England will be teaching you about traditional English cheeses including Wensleydale, Stilton, and Cheddar. Chef Aaron Ballard has created recipes for the class participants to make hands-on using the cheeses. Everyone loves cheese so this is a class you won’t want to miss!

DIM SUM 101

2 HOURS

Travel back to the silk road tea houses and "touch the heart" with the simplicity and elegance of Dim Sum. Dim Sum is a broad culinary tradition of small bites that historically accompanied afternoon tea. Come enjoy an evening of tea and treats.

To those who our Sushi 101 class was not enough follow it up with Advanced Sushi 102! We're getting to the real stuff with caried techniques and preparation as well as better methods of fish selection. Our Cooking School Chef will bring you up to his level by the end of this class.

California Wine & Cheese

California is the leader in the “New World” for experimenting with new grape varieties. Every year, a new wine crops up from their old world home lands. Grape vines from Italy, France, Spain, and Austria are successfully grown from the top to the bottom of California, producing award winning wines. Presented by wine educator Sheral Schowe, six examples of the most recent success stories will be tasted, and paired with cheeses from California and their birthplace in Europe.

Come learn while guest teacher La Fuji Mama blogger Rachael Hutchings teaches us a ton of tricks on how to pack the perfect bento box.

BALSAMIC VINEGARS

When you walk the vinegar isle at a grocery store you are suddenly overwhelmed by hundreds of bottles on the shelves. A huge percentage of them are always Balsamic Vinegars raging anywhere from a few dollars a bottle more than thirty dollars. Fear not, we are here to help. Chef Kimberly Larsen will teach the differences between the prices and what to look for to get the best deal. She will also teach when to use cheaper brands and when to splurge on the better bottle with different recipes.

Fermentation is one of the old forms of food preparation and one of Chef Aaron's personal favorites. Chef Aaron will be introducing you to the easy and rewarding world of Zymology (fermentation). From the top of the “boot” to the bottom, tradition runs strong in both the culinary and winemaking styles. Chef Kimberly Larsen and Wine Educator Sheral Schowe will lead you through a food and wine journey, beginning with Northern Italy, progressing through Tuscany, and concluding with Italy’s largest winemaking region, Sicily. Five courses will be paired with regional wines.
