March is National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to help people make informed food choices and establish healthy physical activity habits. Every year, the Academy creates a unique theme to go along with National Nutrition Month, and this year’s theme is…no theme? That’s right; this year’s theme is all about celebrating nutrition however you want!
Here at Harmons, we’re celebrating National Nutrition Month with Harmons year-round motto: Healthy Food, Happy Taste Buds. Here’s a few ways to celebrate with Harmons this month:
Sample a new Dietitians Choice product. Whether it’s a chef-prepared salad you’ve never tried before from our Kitchen, our delicious 7-grain bread, one of our seasoned meats in the meat department, or one of our four delicious hummus flavors; Harmons has healthy options in each department and down every aisle. Harmons loves to give out samples, so grab an associate to help you try whatever catches your eye. The curry chicken salad from the Kitchen is one of my personal favorites.
Take a dietitian cooking class. Several of our cooking schools have dietitian classes once a month, sending you home with a packet of recipes that are not only delicious, but healthy, too! A Harmons Dietitian leads each class, providing you with great culinary tips, as well as some amazing nutrition tidbits. You can view our cooking classes here.
Pick up your Harmons Food For Thought 2019 Healthy Living Edition. Check out the PDF here, or grab the latest edition from the Healthy Checkout Lane at your local Harmons. If you have a Harmons Foodie Club Card, you get your first one for free! Recipes were skillfully created by Harmons professional chefs and reviewed by our dietitians, so you can be sure there’s no sacrifice in flavor or nutrition. From quesadillas and gnocchi skillets to pumpkin custards and chocolate matcha cups, our newest Food For Thought is sure to please your taste buds! Eating healthy never tasted so good.
