The newest, trendy ingredient to hit our Kitchens is the Impossible meat grind. Made from 100 percent plants and no animal products or by-products, Impossible is a delicious option for anyone trying to eat more plant-based. Here’s what makes Impossible a great meat alternative to try.

They Use Heme!

Legume hemoglobin is a protein found in plants that carries heme, an iron-containing molecule. It is believed that heme is the component in meat that contributes to the “meaty” taste that so many of us love. Impossible uses soy legume hemoglobin in their products to mimic this meaty taste, making it a delicious meat-alternative option.

High in Protein

Impossible has a whopping 19 grams of protein per four ounce serving, which puts it on par with traditional beef products. Impossible meat uses soy protein concentrate, one of the only plant-based sources of complete protein, so you get all of essential amino acids you would be getting in beef products.
