Eating food from your favorite restaurant is a great way to celebrate holidays, special occasions with friends and family, or simply appreciate a night off from cooking. Here are a few tips for how to enjoy delicious and nutritious foods while eating out, or more likely, takeout.  

  • Save part of your meal for lunch the next day.
  • Choose foods that are broiled, roasted, or grilled rather than fried.
  • Opt for a veggie side.
  • Eat slowly, enjoy the company you’re with.
  • Put the free appetizers for the table (chips and salsa, bread, wonton chips) onto your plate before you eat. It might help to visualize portions.
