Yet another holiday has arrived, and the trappings of coronavirus are still with us, social distancing and mask wearing included.
Valentine’s Day is a holiday dedicated to the concept of “love” and “feelings.” So, how do we make it special when we are all standing at least six feet apart, wearing face coverings, dousing ourselves with hand sanitizer, and super busy washing our hands while singing the happy birthday song to ensure we’re doing a good job? It’s a lot.
But during this global coronavirus pandemic, along with severe strain, loss, and grief, we actually have been given some rare gifts, including the opportunity to create life-long memories. The kind that people talk about at annual family gatherings and around campfires. The kind of memories that begin with “Remember when….”

Harmons has a great flower shop and floral departments in each store, and this year you can get your flowers in-store to take home for your significant other or have them safely delivered to those you love but can’t see to maintain social distancing. Our floral designers believe that flowers bring happiness to the person receiving them, so let your someone special know you’re thinking of them.
Celebrate with Strawberries
Valentine’s Day at Harmons means hand-dipped chocolate-covered strawberries, and these tasty delights are true works of art personally created by our bakery. The giant, juicy strawberries from California are hand-dipped in Belgium chocolate and decorated individually.
We also feature strawberry heart trays in our produce department, and they come in large and small sizes, complete with a non-dairy sweet dip.
Plan a Romantic Dinner
Surprise your love with a candlelit dinner in the intimacy of your home. Whether you are picking up some high-quality Wagyu beef or planning on a lobster tail (or both!), we have all the ingredients you need to make your evening unforgettable. If you don’t know what you want to cook, or need some instruction or inspiration, sign up for one of our online cooking classes. You can even set a special date night and take a class together.

Our bakery always sets a high bar for pastries, breads, and sweets, and Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity for them to use their creative and culinary skills to make treats that will delight all your loved ones.

Try Something New
You can order a charcuterie tray featuring your favorite cheeses or visit our specialty cheese island and make your own. Our cheesemongers are happy to make suggestions for cheeses, meats, and unique pairings you might not have thought of. Cowgirl Creamery indulges the holiday with heart-shaped Mt Tam, a delicious soft cheese that pairs beautifully with sweet preserves or artisan bean-to-bar chocolate from Solstice Chocolate, a local favorite.
Bake Cookies
Gather your kids and have a Valentine’s Day cookie baking party. RubySnap frozen cookies are ready to bake and decorate, and with flavors like vanilla bean sugar or a variety of chocolate chip and chocolate cookies, they are a “snap” to bake and create! If making cookies isn’t your forte, we also have all sorts of delicious already made cookies and desserts (eclairs, crème brulee, cheesecake, cupcakes) to sweeten your holiday.
You can also set up a video chat baking party with grandparents or others to join in the celebration.
Valentine's Day Cocoa Bombs
The food trend that took the country by storm during the holidays is still going strong, and we have the perfect Valentine’s Day cocoa bombs to delight all the chocolate lovers in your house.
These beautifully decorated cocoa bombs are made in our bakery, and all you need to make a cup of hot chocolatey goodness is warmed milk.
