Summer is here and it is barbecue, picnic, and outdoor eating season! Elevate your party game and bring one of these patriotic sides to your 4th of July celebration this summer. These red, white, and blue salads are simple to create and delicious to consume.

Spinach Berry Salad

My favorite summer salad and a super festive appetizer for your holiday BBQ, is a spinach berry salad. I combine spinach, blueberries, raspberries, shredded feta cheese, and sliced red onions to create this salad. This dish allows for a lot of flexibility since you can combine the toppings in the quantity you prefer. I love blueberries so I always go heavy on the berries in the salad. To top this off, I recommend adding this delicious Harmons poppyseed dressing.

Caprese Salad

Another easy festive dish if you are looking for a savory hors d’oeuvre is a caprese salad. To create this, grab large ripe tomatoes, pick up some fresh basil, and Harmons fresh mozzarella. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella and layer a plate with a slice of each. Top with fresh basil, black pepper, balsamic glaze, and this delicious basil olive oil. If you’re short on time, pick up this made fresh in-store caprese tray

Watermelon Berry Salad

This salad is a perfect starter or substitute for dessert. To create this, simply cube a watermelon, add some sliced strawberries, blueberries, fresh mint and honey, and lime juice. Like the spinach berry salad, this dish can be created in the quantity you prefer. Add all ingredients to a bowl and toss to combine.
