Private Party – Kayenta: A French Evening

In France there are few culinary trends as divisive as sucré-salé (mixing sweet and savory ingredients in one dish).  The combination of sweet and savory is common in French cuisine, yet for many the idea of preparing a dish based on opposing flavors can be a little difficult to accomplish.  This month Chefs Jackie  and Shane are inviting you to take on the challenge!  The chefs will be demonstrating the preparation of Magret de Canard, the classic duck breast dish of Southern France.  This elegant entrée will be served with a fig sauce reduction and accompanied with sides of green beans and new potatoes.  And, of course, the chefs’ outstanding array of accompaniments.

This special event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm, Friday March 6; a switch from our normal second Wednesday of the month.

We recommend a Sangiovese or Pinot Gris to accompany the meal.
