Sushi 101

The craft of sushi making is a time-honored tradition in Japan, a matter of intense national pride. It’s often noted that the red of the fish and the white of the rice symbolize the red and white of the Japanese flag. But you don’t need to visit Japan to learn some basics for sushi. Our Sushi 101 class will give you insight and resources for making your own sushi. Chef Jake has several years of experience in the Japanese food and sushi restaurants, and will guide you through the process. We will make plenty of sushi rolls for dinner, so be sure to come hungry and ready to learn!

Skills and recipes will include:
Sushi Rice
Sushi Rice Vinegar
Pickled Ginger
Ponzu Sauce
Spicy Mayo

Note: Because this is a mask-free environment, in-person cooking classes are for those ages 12 and up who are fully vaccinated.
