Sushi Night

The craft of sushi making is a time-honored tradition in Japan, a matter of intense national pride. It’s often noted that the red of the fish and the white of the rice symbolize the red and white of the Japanese flag. But you don’t need to visit Japan to learn some basics for sushi. Our Sushi 101 class will give you insight and resources for making your own sushi. Chef Daniela will walk you through the techniques of rolling, assembling and the knife skills you will need to make your own Sushi as well as How to make Sushi Rice and Vegetable Tempura.

Skills and recipes will include:

Sushi Rice and Seasoning
Spicy Tuna Roll
California Roll
Veggie Tempura
Miso Soup (chef prepared)
Chef’s Choice Dessert

We will also have a drawing for a Sushi Introduction Kit (rolling mat, wooden rice spoon, Japanese mandolin and knife)
