being a responsible foodie

If you like to follow the latest food trends while still eating green, you can check out Force of Nature, a company that is combating climate change by using the process of regenerative agriculture to produce better meat. Bar 10 Beef also has a strong commitment to sustainability and regenerative agriculture. Hollow Tree Honey is a local-to-Utah company that sells the same raw honey the bees eat themselves and operates both ethically and sustainably. Nuts for Cheese offers organic, 100% dairy-free plant-based cheese made specifically for the artisan cheese lover.

being a responsible company

At Harmons, we work hard on our commitment to sustainability and green and healthy eating, including offering products that are dietitians choice (meeting strict nutritional requirements), certified organic, and vegan. We understand the importance of shopping and buying locally, as well, which helps stimulate the local economy, helps create and retain valuable jobs, and reduces transportation costs of your goods (which means putting fewer greenhouse emissions into the air). With more than 2,600 local products available in our stores, we are proud to say we shop local, too.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT HARMONS

Harmons became a supporter of “sustainability” long before the term was widely used. We started our first cardboard recycling program about 20 years ago. We divert over 50% of our waste from the landfill. Food that is still edible is donated to local foodbanks. Some of our Kitchen meals are now served in compostable bowls, and we are working to reduce our energy footprint by installing LED lighting, updating refrigeration systems, and we installed solar panels on our Santa Clara store that generate 40 percent of the store’s electricity.
