- 1 lb unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 lb powdered sugar
- 3 1/2 oz cocoa
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4-1/2 cup milk, as needed for consistency
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or in a bowl with a hand mixer, cream butter until soft and light in color. Sift together sugar and cocoa. Add salt. Alternating, add sugar and milk until all are absorbed by butter. Add vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
