Hot Buttered Rum

Serves 4
INGREDIENTS:
  • 2/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 3/4 cup spiced rum (optional)
  • 2 cup boiling water
  • 4 sticks cinnamon, for garnish
DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl, add brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Mix until blended. Transfer mixture to a 4-cup measuring cup. Add rum and boiling water. Stir until butter mixture dissolves. Divide buttered rum among 4 mugs. Garnish with the cinnamon sticks and serve.
