- 2 Tbsp canola oil
- 1 lb whole green beans trimmed
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Heat a large, deep frying pan over medium heat. After 2 minutes, add oil and swirl to coat pan. Increase heat to high, wait 15 seconds, add green beans and liberally season with salt. Cook beans, shaking pan or using tongs to turn beans so they cook quickly and evenly. After about 5 minutes, taste a bean to see if it is done to your liking. It should be crisp-tender. Remove beans from heat. Sprinkle on garlic and red pepper flakes, and toss to combine.
