Tapas and Cava

The Basque country of Northern Spain is one of the most celebrated culinary regions in the world!  Traditionally, in northern Spain, tapas and pintxos are the main snacks you will encounter in bars and restaurants. Join Chef Nancy in preparing simple and rustic dishes, especially popular in the Basque country. We will pair a lovely Spanish Cava with your meal.

  • Grilled Asparagus with Hazelnut Romesco, Lemon Zest, and Manchego Cheese
  • Flatbread with Roasted Red Peppers, Shallots, and Goat Cheese
  • Patatas Bravas – Crispy Yukon Gold Potatoes, Brava Sauce
  • Seared Spanish Scallops and roasted garlic

Chef’s Table: A French Country Christmas

Experience the beauty and elegance of a French country Christmas, and delight in a gastronomic adventure that you’ll never forget. The imaginative chefs at City Creek will transport you from Salt Lake City to a provincial French village aglow in soft lighting and a seasonal atmosphere. Six authentic French courses will be paired with wine or other beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to create a beautiful evening that will take you away from the seasonal hustle and bustle and immerse you in a warm and relaxed meal that will rejuvenate your palate and soul. No cooking, cleanup, or dishes for you tonight–just great food, nice people, and the French holiday spirit.

The term “charcuterie” dates back to 15th century France and refers to the preparation of cured meats, like prosciutto, salami, etc. But today a charcuterie board can include a variety of cured meats and cheeses, along with a selection of mustards, chutneys, nuts, prepared vegetables, dipping sauces, and spreads.  Join Chef Nancy in creating the perfect charcuterie board for the holiday season. Chef Nancy will share her food ideas in helping you select a theme, display your board, and ideas on combining two or three boards to create a Grazing Table. We will enjoy a glass of wine with this workshop.

Spanish Seduction

Everyone knows Spanish cuisine by the many tapas served at elegant restaurants, but don’t forget that Spain offers so many other dishes that aren’t small bites. Cachopo is a steak stuffed with cured chorizo, Manchego cheese and sweet piquillo peppers, which is then breaded and fried. This amazing steak will be paired with a traditional Spanish Pisto and saffron potatoes. It’s the perfect date night or a way to show off to a group of friends or family. Join us for this wonderful class and enjoy a glass of Spanish wine with your meal.

Tagines of Morocco with wine pairing

Discover the delicious flavors of North African tagines with a contemporary touch. These tagines, along with distinctive sauces and dips, are made by pounding or blending olive oil and garlic with various ingredients such as nuts, seeds, spices, herbs, and aromatics. Chef Nancy will take you on a culinary journey to Morocco where you will learn how to make these amazing sauces, dips, and the perfect tagine. We will have a lovely wine pairing with this class. Non-Alcoholic options are always available.

Provençal Farmhouse Cuisine

Come along with us to wine and dine Provençal style! The cassoulet, a slow-simmered stew of white beans, duck confit, and andouille sausage is one of France’s most iconic dishes from the Languedoc region.  Staying true to the rustic intentions of the cassoulet, Chef Nancy will teach you how to create this high-spirited but simple dish, timed for more modern lifestyles. A bold red wine,  green salad, and finishing with an apple tarte tatin will make a night you won’t forget and one you will want to replicate! We will enjoy a glass of wine with our meal.

Chef’s Table: A New Orleans Adventure

The cuisine of New Orleans is heavily influenced by Creole cuisine, Cajun cuisine and soul food with seafood playing a prominent part. Are you interested in tasting the flavors of Louisiana? Chef Daniela had the privilege of living in New Orleans and loves to share its wonderful cuisine! Bring in your beads, costume and be ready for some delicious food and lots of fun!
