Halloween is a great opportunity to have a party! Come party with the Mountain View Village cooking school since Chef Daniela and her team have decorated the Cooking School for this special Holiday occasion with a Harry Potter theme. Choose your best costume and come celebrate with us! We will have bloody delicious food, cold spirits, drinks and trivia questions from all the Harry Potter movies with the lovely prizes of free cooking school seats to giveaway to the winner! Let us do all the cooking and the cleaning–it doesn’t get any better than that!

Family Event: Mad as a Hatter Dinner Party!

Oh dear! You don’t want to be late to this! Follow Chef Daniela down the rabbit hole and you’ll get to experience all kinds of odd new flavors that will have you not wanting to leave! This “mad” event will leave you growing in size after you eat all of our fun tea party dishes along with peculiar mocktails for the whole family. Come join us in this odd event and feel free to come dressed to participate in our costume contest and trivia games. Don’t miss this WONDERful 3 hour event with beautiful decorations, fun activities, and amazing food!

Old Fashioned Bitters and Cheese

We are excited to be working with Honest John Bitters, in this hands-on class as you will learn the art of making an old-fashioned cocktail flight with bitters from Honest Johns and taste the outstanding flavors of the Sugar House Rye Whiskey. You will also get to sample some of the wonderful cheeses and chocolates we offer from our own Harmons Cheese Island. Chefs Shane and Greg will be making our Wagyu meatballs and sampling other wonderful flavors and foods.

“Meet the Chefs” Open House

Come meet the dynamic duo who makes Harmons Cooking School THE place to be! Chefs Jackie and Eric will be opening up their kitchen to Santa Clara customers to enjoy. Don’t miss your chance to spend some time with Harmons’ Chefs as they answer all your questions about our school, recipes and more! Plus, they’ll be welcoming you with some delicious appetizers. You won’t want to miss it!

This is a free event, open to the public.

Cheese Festival at Traverse

Do you love cheese as much as we do? If so, join us for the Harmons Cheese  Festival! We are starting our Christmas season with a smile! Say “cheese… everyone!” Harmons is here to make your cheese dreams come true!

Have you ever wanted to experience the aroma of a wheel of cheese when it is just cracked open?! We want to make sure you not only smell it, but taste it! So come taste the center of a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano, Gruyère, and we will also be demonstrating how to pull mozzarella!

We have a full schedule of demonstrations planned, below are the highlights, where you will have the opportunity to experience a mini-demo or a talk to the chef or cheese-monger and get all your cheesy questions answered!

  • 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm Tasting Manchego and Garbanzo Paella
  • 11:00-2 pm Cheese with a Twist (taste the sweet side of cheeses)

  • 2:00 pm Gruyère Wheel
  • 4:00 pm Demo of Fresh Mozzarella
  • 5:00 pm Experience Pulling Your own Mozzarella in our Cooking School ($10 per person)

Pulling Fresh Mozzarella Cheese

Shop with a Dietitian: Plant-Based

Chances are you’ve heard that a plant-based diet is good for health. But what exactly does it mean to eat plant-based? Is it vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, or can it even include some meat? Join Harmons Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Heather to clear up the confusion and learn the ins and outs of following a plant-based diet. You will learn shopping and cooking tips to create delicious meals and snacks that harness plant power!
