Taste of the Baja

It’s Baja time!  Invite your neighbors and join us for a hands-on culinary evening adventure join us for an evening of relaxation and indulgence as we invite you to savor the flavors of our exquisite cuisine while enjoying a refreshing glass of margarita. We will teach you how to make delicious fish tacos, coconut shrimp, 2 salsas. Join Chef Jackie as she leads you in creating your favorite dishes from Baja.  This is a dinner you will never forget.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Are we cooking everything on the listed menu?
No, to provide you with an enjoyable experience in a timely fashion, you will most likely be cooking 2 or 3 items from the menu. If you have any questions regarding the menu or cooking process for any of the recipes, please feel free to ask our chefs.

Will I be cooking alone?
No, our classes are designed for you to cook in groups at one of our 4 stations in the school. If you’ve purchased a ticket for yourself, you will be assigned to a station at the coordinator/chef’s discretion. If you have purchased multiple tickets for a group on a single order, your group will be assigned to a station to cook together.

Can I bring my own beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)?
For public classes and events, you may bring outside nonalcoholic beverages for your consumption. Outside alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in the cooking school.

I have an allergy/food restriction, can I still participate in a class?
Yes, we encourage any participants to include any food restrictions when signing up for the class in the comment section of the event page. Our team may reach out for further details and instructions.

Can my child participate in a class that isn’t a Junior Chef event?
We encourage parents to use their own discretion when signing their children up for public classes. If the class is listed as “21+” we cannot allow children to participate. Any of our other hands-on classes are suitable for children ages 14 and up. Tickets are priced per person, if a parent would like to cook with their child, they must purchase a ticket for themselves as well. We offer Junior Chef classes every month for children ages 5 and up.

Chef Daniela is gonna take you on a learning experience of a lifetime, you will get to cook all these wonderful foods while learning about what Hibachi truly means and how it brings people closer together. Do you enjoy the delicious fare of your local Thai restaurant but are trying to be more health conscious? Join Dietitian Hannah to learn how to prepare 3 traditional Thai dishes, but with a healthy twist. This menu is delicious and different but simple enough to make at home again and again. With both culinary and nutrition education taking place, come with an appetite to learn…and eat of course! We will work in groups of three to utilize the kitchen space more effectively.

Taste of Korea – Beef Bulgogi

The rise of Korean food in America is the latest in a string of East Asian influences on the American diet.  Korean cuisine makes it all too easy for newcomers to fall in love with its varieties: there is  something for omnivores, herbivores, and carnivores alike. The five flavors—sweet, salty, sour, acidic, and spicy—are all encompassed in a single dish. Korean food delivers flavor right off the bat with all these different flavors, without having to look for them. Come and join Chef Daniela on this new adventure learning about some of the top Korean ingredients and amazing dishes.

Macarons: Italian Meringue Method

Traditional French macarons are those little cookies made out of almond meal and egg whites which are all the craze right now. They are not easy to make, but after this class you will be able to show off your skills with precision. Chef Daniela will demonstrate how to make macarons using the Italian meringue method. Teams of four will work together to make these delicious gluten free cookies from scratch. Every guest will take home some macarons to share with family and friends. This class is built for adults, but teens 12 and up are also welcome!

In your preparations for Mothers Day, jump with Ghirardelli into a Chocolate World, where we can fix everything with “Just a Spoonful of Chocolate”. Join Chef Freyka and and our partner Ghirardelli for a little afternoon fun, they will show you the way to find the SNAP in everything you DO! Ghirardelli is sending us all the chocolate you need to cook up a storm!  Because every task we undertake will take the shape of something sweet and scrumptiously delicious, in a most delightful way. Don’t forget, this class is filled with not just the chocolate we make in class, but also with all the presents that Ghirardelli sends for you! We’ll also have a raffle with more chocolate!
