The craft of sushi making is a time-honored tradition in Japan, a matter of intense national pride. It’s often noted that the red of the fish and the white of the rice symbolize the colors of the Japanese flag. But you don’t need to visit Japan to learn some basics for sushi. Our Sushi 101 class will give you insight and resources for making your own sushi. Chef Daniela will walk you through the techniques of rolling, assembling and the knife skills you will need to make your own sushi as well as how to make sushi rice and vegetable tempura.

Hello teen bakers and pastry lovers! Chef Jackie is going to teach you how to make delicious French pâte à choux pastry from scratch! This French pastry is used as the base for a variety of desserts: éclairs, profiteroles, gougères (cheese puffs) and churros, to name a few. We will also learn to make pastry cream and chocolate glaze to fill and cover these delicious clouds of sweetness.
This class is designed for teens ages 12 and older. You will be paired in groups. Parents who would like to attend with their child must purchase an additional seat.

If your child or teen is interested in cooking, this is the perfect summertime kids cooking class for them! Chef Casey will teach them the tricks to grilling the perfect steak complete with all the fixings. They’ll be able to take these techniques home and be prepared to grill almost anything for family dinners. Your child will become the star of the family BBQ! They will also take home a brand new meat thermometer to start their grilling off right!
