Harmons CHile Roast: Bring the Heat with our house-made dishes

It’s that time of year again, and we couldn’t be more excited for our annual Chile Roast. The aroma of fresh chiles will be wafting through the air as we roast bushels of them at all of our locations every Fridays, Saturdays, and Labor Day starting August 16, 2022. We’ll also be featuring some great chile concoctions in our Kitchen, including chile verde, tamales, chile mac & cheese, or empanadas, which pair perfectly with our traditional chile refried beans, and more. Even our fresh-made salsa will have roasted chiles. So, whether you like your chiles mild, medium, or hot, you won’t want to miss this event. The dates are August 16 through September 5, 2022.

Warm Weather. Hot Dishes.

There’s a firestorm of controversy (pun intended) about the correct way to spell chile, and you may have noticed we use an “e” at the end. At Harmons, we are all big foodies, so we follow the guidance of the Chile Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University. New Mexico is the home state to the beloved Hatch chile, and New Mexicans take their chiles seriously, so we are acknowledging that by following their style. “Chile” refers to the plant, and “chili” is used to define the stew-like dish with beans. Whichever way you spell it, there is little doubt that chiles spice up a dish and give it great flavor, and when they are roasted it’s intensified. Check out our chile recipes above and spice up your summer days and nights.
