Vaccine F A q s
All Harmons pharmacy locations are currently administering the COVID-19 vaccines to any customer 12 years old or older. You can walk in without an appointment and they will get you in as quickly as possible, or you can make an appointment and select the type of vaccine you wish to receive here.
There are many vaccine providers across the state. If you are having trouble finding an appointment with us, we encourage you to schedule with a different provider.
*The Pfizer vaccine is currently the only one approved for use with children 12 to 17 years old. Harmons is not yet offering the Pfizer formula, so we are not able to vaccinate anyone under the age of 18 at this time. We encourage those who are 16 or 17, who would like to be vaccinated, to follow the link above to schedule with a different provider.
At this time, all Harmons locations that are administering vaccine shots are supplied with the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson produced vaccine. This information will be updated as more options become available.
Yes, we have been trained to administer the vaccine and will be ready to do so it as it becomes available.
Why am I hearing different information about the availability of vaccines? Why are the CDC recommendations and timeline different from those put out by the state of Utah?
The CDC has recommended guidelines for the roll out of the vaccine, and has made each state aware of those recommendations, but each state controls their own timeline, and in some cases that even changes according to the county in which you reside. To view the approximate Utah timeline for vaccine distribution you can go here. [https://coronavirus.utah.gov/vaccine]
No, they do not. At this time, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single dose. The other available vaccines require two doses, the second given three to four weeks after the first. If needed, our pharmacists can help you schedule your second dose at the time of your vaccination.
No. It is necessary to have a two-week spread between the flu and COVID-19 vaccine.
Harmons is taking strong measures to ensure sick associates do not report to work. Along with advising all employees who are feeling ill to stay home, we are taking the temperature of each employee as they report to work and continue to routinely clean and sanitize all store areas. We also have a strict protocol in place to address any confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. Any associate who has symptoms or is confirmed to have COVID-19 will be sent to quarantine at home and told to contact their health care provider. In addition, all associates who were in contact with the associate will be monitored closely for symptoms. The area where the associate worked will also be properly sanitized using extreme precautions. Harmons will not identify any associate by name in order to protect their privacy.
